Denver Performing Arts Classes Curriculum Philosophy: Academy classes empower children and their imaginations through the discipline of theatre. Creating theatrically rich opportunities to discover then shape and share creative expression is the goal in all of our children’s classes. This is accomplished through storytelling, improvisation, group building, learning to accept and work with others’ ideas, developing a theatrical vocabulary and becoming comfortable with performing in front of others. Academy classes use dance, movement, music, visual arts and creative drama to encourage students to explore, reflect, imitate and understand the world around them. We strive to help students develop their voices, bodies and imaginations by teaching theatre skills that help them to grow — both physically and intellectually as artists and as people.
