This school year, Oakland Elementary students are participating in Slow Food Denver’s Seed to Plate program—an engaging, hands-on learning experience that takes them through the entire journey of food, from seed to plate.
Using a learner-driven approach, Seed to Plate inspires students to develop lifelong healthy eating habits by connecting them to where their food comes from and how it’s prepared. Through the program, students will explore the garden, try new foods, and create meals they can share and be proud of.
By the end of the year, families can expect to see their children more curious about fresh fruits and vegetables, more confident in the kitchen, and more aware of the impact food has on their health and the environment.
We’re excited to see our students grow—both in the garden and beyond! Check out more pictures here🌱
