Dear Oakland Elementary School Community,
Thank you for your continued partnership in the Oakland Elementary School principal selection process. We are excited to share that Mr. Corby Peck has been selected as the next principal at Oakland Elementary School. We are confident that Mr. Peck will enter the school community ready to serve and will lead with vision, collaboration, heart, and commitment to student success.
Mr. Peck is a seasoned educational leader with a proven track record in school improvement. He currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Green Valley Elementary, where he specializes in driving academic success through Data-Driven Instruction (DDI) and Curriculum Internalization. With prior leadership experience at Summit Academy in southwest Denver, Mr. Peck successfully spearheaded Continuous Improvement Plan cycles and wrap-around services, resulting in significant gains in school ratings and parent satisfaction. His leadership style is defined by a deep commitment to educational equity and the belief that building strong, supportive relationships is the foundation for student achievement. By focusing on the unique needs of every learner and fostering a connected community, he has a deep passion to empower both students and staff to realize their full potential. Mr. Peck is excited for the opportunity to continue to serve the Far Northeast community and make Oakland his next home.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who engaged in the selection process and contributed input and feedback. We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to the School Accountability Committee (SAC) for their time, thoughtfulness, and unwavering commitment to the entire Oakland community. Along with the input you shared early in the initial survey, the SAC used the candidate profile to create interview questions for our candidates that participated in the initial round of interviews. This committee served the school community well, and their ongoing dedication to the success of Oakland is deeply appreciated.
Lastly, we would like to thank Interim Principal Dr. Evelyn Cruz for her ongoing leadership and service to Oakland. We are grateful for her commitment to the school community.
Mr. Peck will begin listening and learning with the Oakland community later this spring and will assume full principalship over the summer.
