With our Fall Carnival coming up, we will need lots candy donations. Please drop off donations in the candy box located in the main office.
In honor of Día de los Muertos, we invite all families to help us remember loved ones who have passed away.
To participate: Send a photo with your student or email it to janelle_constance@dpsk12.net. Please include your student's name and class on the back or in the email so it can be returned.
Visit our Ofrenda in person from Oct 23–Nov 6 or follow our social media pages to see the finished display! All photos will be safely returned in mid-November.

Dear Oakland Families,
We are excited to announce the launch of Oakland Elementary’s Watch D.O.G.S. volunteer program!
Watch D.O.G.S. is a school volunteer program designed to increase the presence of caring, supportive adults in our school. Volunteers will have opportunities to support students during lunch, recess, schoolwide activities, and other events throughout the school year.
While the program is traditionally known for engaging fathers and father figures, Watch D.O.G.S. is for everyone! We encourage dads, moms, brothers, sisters, grandparents, family members, and other trusted adults in our students’ lives to participate. Our goal is to build a strong community of adults who are willing to show up, build relationships with our students, and support the Oakland community.
Join Us for a Watch D.O.G.S. Pizza Party!
We will be hosting a Watch D.O.G.S. Pizza Party on Saturday, October 3rd, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Oakland Elementary.
This will be an opportunity to:

Enjoy some pizza with the Oakland community!

Unable to attend the pizza party but still interested in volunteering? No problem! Please complete this interest form and let us know that you would like to participate. We will follow up with you about future volunteer opportunities.
