One step through our doors and you’ll find an inclusive community where all are welcome. At Oakland, we are committed to the success of all students. Our goal is that all our unique learners are able to actualize their potential and be ready for the next steps in their education.
SchoolChoice is for any student who wants or needs to attend a new school for the following school year. This particularly impacts transitioning students who are typically incoming kindergarten, sixth- and ninth-grade students who are moving into a new school due to their grade level. All incoming ECE students, as well as incoming students who reside in an enrollment zone, must complete an application.
REGISTER with your school after you get your school placement results.
Incoming ECE students must participate in SchoolChoice on a yearly basis; due to space limitations, enrollment in a preschool program is not guaranteed. Learn more about the ECE application process here. In most cases, if your student is currently in kindergarten through 11th grade and will be staying at their current school for 2024-25, you do not have to fill out a SchoolChoice application.
Round 2 will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, and will close on Aug. 30, at 4 p.m. Round 2 of SchoolChoice is on a first-come, first-served basis within school priority groups and is for our families who missed Round 1; took part in Round 1 but want to re-explore their options; or are new to DPS for next school year.
Enrollment Services will be hosting these remaining training sessions for Round 2:
