Hi! My name is Casey FitzPatrick and I am the ELA-E First Grade Teacher here at Oakland! I graduated from Cornell Univeristy in 2017 with a double major in Biological Sciences and Environmental & Sustainability Sciences with a minor in Natural Resources. My education continued at CU Denver where I graduated with an MA in Curriculum & Instruction in 2020. I grew up in a military family and have lived all across the U.S. and even abroad. I moved to Denver to be closer to my family after I graduated college and have been here ever since!
This is my 5th year at Oakland and the students are by far my favorite part. The best thing about being an educator at Oakland is that each day is a new opportunity to be better than the day before.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy caring for my plethora of houseplants, hanging out with my dogs Lily and Emma, or delving into a good book.
